Invisalign® can dramatically transform your teeth and revolutionize your smile. Sometimes referred to as invisible braces or clear braces, Invisalign® is a series of virtually invisible aligners that move your teeth gradually and comfortably into their desired positions. Each set of aligners is specifically calibrated and customized to fit your mouth at different stages of the treatment plan.
Invisalign® is a popular choice with patients for a number of reasons. The translucent aligners are much virtually pain-free and much more comfortable than braces. Unlike traditional, metal braces, there are no unpleasant brackets or wires to worry about that might make your gums sore or bleed. Since we, as an Invisalign® dentist, use aligners that can be easily removed for eating, brushing and flossing, you can still enjoy all your favorite foods without any trouble. For most people, the most popular feature of Invisalign® is that no one can tell that you’re wearing anything.
Invisalign® Treatment Plan
A knowledgeable Invisalign® dentist at our office will conduct a detailed evaluation of your teeth and determine the length of treatment needed. If you are a candidate for Invisalign® clear braces, our Invisalign® dentist will use 3D imagery to custom design a series of aligners for your teeth. Every two weeks your aligners will be replaced with a new set that are slightly differently shaped, and little by little, your teeth will shift and gradually move into their final positions. Approximately every month or so you will come and visit us so we can check your progress and make sure your treatment plan is working properly.
For the best results, the aligners should be worn for twenty to twenty-two hours of each day. Typically, the Invisalign® system will straighten teeth as fast as traditional, metal braces, and total treatment time typically lasts nine to 15 months. In some cases, Invisalign® can straighten teeth up to 40% faster than braces. The approximate number of aligners worn during treatment is between 20 and 30, but this can vary from case to case.
